How to Know If You are Working in a Great Company

All of us wants to stay in a company that makes us feel whole and appreciated. But there are other people who want to prefer other factors that will make them motivated to stay longer in that company. Be it for experience, for money or for peers. But how can we identify the company that will develop us and nurture us while we are staying? If you are a fresh graduate and would want to know how long you will stay or if you have a future waiting for that company, this list may be helpful to you. How do you identify a good company for you? Look down below.

1.) More of a Mentor than a Manager

One of the reasons why we wanted to get work fast when we graduate from college is to gain experience. Or if you already have one and is working an employee for some time now, we hunger for more experience or knowledge. If you're working under a manager that helps you to be a better employee or person by being a mentor that guides, you then you know you are working in a great company.

2.) Work Hard while Having Fun

Some company doesn't want their employees to have fun, instead, they tend to be stricter and more process oriented. Now, wouldn't that suck for you right? What about having fun and growing together? If you're the company is like that, then you might want to think differently. How can one person enjoy his stay and work effectively if he was not given a chance to be creative and have fun in what he is doing? People today look for a working environment where they can enjoy and earn at the same time. And since people are having fun, they tend to work harder and keep that level of fun in balance with the goal of the company in check. It might not be as fast, but it gives more result than the usual way.

3.) Promotes Healthy Competition

If your company is promoting competitions such as sports fest, Halloween party, Christmas party and such, then you can know that your company is promoting a different kind of collaboration with the different departments in the company. This will also lead a healthy communication and relationship with other people. After all, each department is linked with each other's operation flow. So why not make a healthy rivalry with each department? After all, nothing beats the traditional way of making your employees happy and motivated to work if they know they are looking for the same goal with each other.

4.) Bring Everyone Closer

In relation to the above number, great companies wanted to make sure that each and every one of their employees knows each other, respects each other and most of all, communicate well with each other. With a good working relationship, you know that you are in good hands. No hate, no negative aura. That is what this is about. Ask yourself, would you like to work in an environment where there will be a negative aura coming in and out of the department just because the managers or the supervisors can't agree well with something?

5.) Brings Employees into Different Events and Seminars

One of the best ways to make sure that you are developing in your company is that your manager or the company sends their employees to be exposed in different company culture by going to events, forum, and seminars where different people converge to learn from the best. Those kinds of companies provide you with the knowledge that they themselves cannot teach you, simply because they don't have the experience yet. That is why great companies make sure that you learn from some of the best people in the industry. Of course, the company would be looking forward to you to use that gained knowledge in the company. That is just a small price to pay considering that what you learned from the event can be brought with you in case you will leave your company.
