Top Five Resume Dead Flags to Look Out For

We all did it at one point where we want to work for our favorite company and have the opportunity to be interviewed and who them what you got. But, how would that be possible when you yourself are making the mistakes that other people made? Even if you are a student learning how to make one, or a fresh graduate looking out for their first company and even to those who are already experienced in their fields, sometimes, we can't help but make these kinds of errors. Of course, this also applies to me. And I am writing this to inform other people as well as to remind me and other people what dead flags are there that most recruiters are looking out for.

1.) "Disregarding" the Dates

Even when you are looking for a new job, not putting the dates of the duration of your stay in your previous company would be a dead flag for you and your future job. Most hiring managers will ask themselves as to why you didn't included how long have you stayed from your previous company, and think that you might be hiding something. Definitely not a good sight in your resume.

Sounds about right :):

2.) The "Knowledgeable" in Microsoft Applications

Most people already knows how Microsoft Office and Excel works, We learned that from High School till college on how to use them. Even now, Elementary students are proficient in the shortcuts of the applications. And if you didn't know how to use one, then, there really is something wrong there. Especially if you already had some working experience and you claim that you know how the program works on your resume. It is already understood that you MUST know how to use the application.

3.) Big Words

This is one of the errors that freshly graduated students from college make. They use big and vague words to make them look like they are smart. Remember, there are proper, easy to understand words, that everyone can use, whether experienced or a newly graduated student.

4.) Spelling, Grammar, and Punctuations

#career #resume #laughs #grammar:

Sometimes, we do forget the basic of the basics and that would be grammar. Most managers or the recruitment department would look out for the tiniest error on your grammar and punctuations, so better make sure to correct them before sending or that little error will cost you that interview and job.

5.) Maximum of Two Page Only Please

The majority of us wanted to show our achievements and involvements with different people and events, but as much as possible make sure that you only put the most relevant information that has a relationship with the position you are applying for. And as much as possible, maximize only two pages for your resume. Because another page of on your resume will tire out the person reviewing it.
