HRDMA Initiates It's First Team Building for the Term

After all the rain and tropical storms that had happened in the country, Our School Organization had finally able to initiate our first team building that we are planning last July. Our organization comprises of small fraction of active students that wants to develop their skills on leadership and management.

My new Batch of trainees
Since, most of us are new to the team, I planned to have a team building, (this was also an order by our current president), to be able to see who our trainees are, and who will be working with us in the future. As a senior, I feel obliged to do something like this to be able to guide them further while I am still at the campus and finding a company for my OJT.

Our Business Manager as well as the Early Bird of the Activity
I prepared a small program that could make them know each other and to make a bond with them. Of course, we started off to get a little pumped up by running around the Quezon City Memorial Circle. And after that, we prayed, thanking God for the blessing of many form, especially that we are able to initiate our long awaited team building. Though, only half of the expected number of officers, committees and trainees are able to attend, we continued the program anyway. I even made clear how joining a school organization can give big factor to help you gain experience.

Our first activity was a "Blanket Name Game" on which this is to make the members to be able to know the names of their friends. This was fun to watch especially how they get mistakes and how they are able to name the person behind the curtain.

Their confidence level and their communication skills are also tested. I sent them on an activity called "Autograph Game" on which they have to get the name and age of the people around the Park. I was surprised though, I never expected them to get almost hundred of people to talk to them. When I asked them how hard it is they told me that, they were having a hard time since most of the people are not that friendly and is super cautious about the different scams that are happening right now.

In the next activity, I made them realize how being unique makes them stronger by having a game called, HRDMA Nominations and Awards. I was rather happy because, they tried real hard to be able to perform their highest notes, lowest notes, Best Joke,  Most Unique Noise, Best Hand Tap Song and much more. They had fun too!

After all that game, our last activity, "7 clap clap" (I don't really know the name of the game though. It is like a concentration game on which the players will have to count to seven, and when they hit the number seven, instead of saying it, they have to clap and the counting continues. The players will clap by the time the count hits all digits with seven and digits divisible by seven.

After that, the wind brews dark clouds that is why, we have to end the activity early. Despite of that, when I asked them if they enjoyed, they did enjoyed since most of them just had this activity for the first time.

At the end of the day, we can learn while we are playing and we can build bonds with other people when we talk to them, say their name and even performing an activity with them. All I can hope is, this will not be the last activity that we will have with them. After all, HRDMA became my family over time.
