Learning that, humans aren't built for sitting too much, since in the previous life of humans, they are going on an activity all day, whether it be, hunting, or forging new things! That is why, with today's jobs, we are getting prone on having some health problems the longer we stay in our seat. And as we all know, if you aren't moving or relaxing too much, our body isn't giving out the necessary energy to our system. Meaning, our muscles aren't taking in fat and our blood sugar levels go up, putting us at risk for weight gain.
And oh, just to add up, if you are sitting for a good whole two hours, your good cholesterol drops into 20%. Meaning, if you just sit, in an extended period of hours, then you are likely two times to be prone on cardiovascular diseases.
According to health research, the very moment that you sit, will stop your body muscles and reflexes, thus decreasing your metabolic function on burning a calories into one calorie per minute. On which, If you sit on a 24-hour period, then you are at risk for type 2 diabetes.
So, How can we Escape in That Kind of Risk?
Different health experts says that for you to be able to escape the risk, then it is advisable to get up and have an exercise of some sort, stretching or even walking around office. But, if that is not enough then, you could do that every after two hours of interval for a whole thirty minutes. Or, if you can, you can stand up while working on something. Well, that is basically because, your body releases energy that is needed to keep your whole body up.
Doing something with an effort can also help you to burn the excess calories that has been keeping in your body, like, taking a joke, or having a chat with a friend in other place of your office or from the school.
You could even watch your movie even though you are standing, it's a new perspective on watching movies I tell you. Been trying it for a while now, and I watch on a whole perspective, though it can be a little tiring after an hour, but it's worth it.
Or, if you are going to brainstorm on something, then I recommend walking around the office or around the room, to make you active, that way, there are no time wasted while thinking of something.
You could be even doing a hobby of sort like dancing, or playing a musical instrument when you find yourself sitting too long and not doing anything. Well, it's still an exercise to help you stand and reduce your risk right?
