If you want to know my watch list, you could go through here!
Ok, So I am selecting what new Anime series I should be watching first. The First three that caught my eye was Haikyuu a Sport genre anime that focuses on Volleyball; Blade and Soul the Animation that is based on a pretty popular MMORPG from Korea; and lastly the one that caught my eyes through various gifs on tumblr, Gokukoku no Brynhilr.
1.) Blade and Soul the Animation
I'll make the review a little short since I already made an article about first impression on my other account which is found here.
Blade and Soul could be good if the animation of characters per frame is consistent and added some more epic music since it has a genre of action and more like female action. And what would be more troubling is that, almost all the female characters that ran the story are kind of have a big breasts.
Gonzo should have given some other female characters a unique proportions. Since, for example, we have this all female characters given a huge and floppy useless meat that serves only for fan service, I would get tired watching the anime since it only gives out pure fan service for "oppai" loves. And I am not into that kind of things all the time.
Story wise, I could give it a fair judgement since it could be a little interesting on how far our heroine could go and what would be her misadventures. Overall, Blade and Soul could be an anime a somewhat good and bad anime for the season.
2.) Haikyuu!!
I am a fan of volleyball and plays one if I have the opportunity. And seeing this one on the list of upcoming anime for the Spring 2014 season, I was like, "Something that fits my interest for sports anime." Besides Slam Dunk, Prince of Tennis and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, Haikyuu will be added to one of the anime series with a genre of sports.
We have here a your typical hot-blooded main character which is seen as a little slow but has a real talent hidden specially if it is pushed to the limit and another character which is kind of good all around but the rivalry is still there. You know the typical boy rivalry thing in sports?
Animation is a good A for me as well as the competitive and motivating BGM for the series. To make that point short.
Volleyball genre sports anime is kind of rare for me and I haven't seen one for a while unlike baseball and basketball anime that is a totally hit. Haikyuu is your typical sports anime and well, there is nothing really good about it. But if you are looking for a dept of the story, Haikyuu is definitely one of the unique one for me. And it is official, I think I am in love with the series and will be looking forward to seeing each new episodes soon.
3.) Gokukoku no Brynhilr
When I first saw the animation and the characters, I said to myself that, "Hey, this looks familiar" but I couldn't remember where I saw the characters. That is when it hit me I tried to read the manga of this but I couldn't continue it and was left alone.
Now, Brynhilr is such a unique word to make a title, but what it means is a shields maiden from Norse mythology that goes with the wrong king. You can use Wikipedia if you want to learn more.
I was a little captivated by the story it gave as a short synopsis and thought that this could be good. And when I saw the gifs on Tumblr, I was kind of attracted as to why is there bloods. Well, a bloody anime with girls on it can be good at times you know. Specially if it it with the likes of Elfen Lied on which the anime was from the same creator.
And the character development escalated a little quickly.
I wouldn't say that I'll be following this one through and through but I could love this if it brings something new.
