But reading different things both on Wattpad as well as different article on Flipboard that I collected about different topics made me realize some things like, "Hey, that's a good idea to add up a flavor into my work!" and I tried it, and there we go, I was able to continue a chapter for my on-going story on Wattpad that is titled, Tales of Erud which makes me excited all over again. Because, if I remembered it correctly, I went on hiatus for a month or two because I couldn't think of anything to add any more.
But luckily, as I read on, I found, at least, different points on how we could actually add up some flavors to our story.
1.) An obnoxious character will always keep your main character alive and energetic
Well, there should be someone who will always stick around your characters especially during times that the story is getting pretty boring. When I found out about this tip, I scanned back to some of the stories that I already finished in Wattpad and some fictional characters come into mind, like the main character of @EGStryker name Ean. For that, he really is obnoxious since he likes to add up more than one word into his English and likes to mix things up. But that kind of spice did make a good impact for the young readers on Wattpad though I suggest not to do it too often
2.) Put your Character in a Really Embarrassing Situations
I got to see this pretty often on anime shows or at the Manga that I am reading and is really working. Even though we say that the story is pretty much intense and too serious, a little side-story of embarrassing thing wouldn't hurt. That will also make your reader remember the character that you have since they could relate to that embarrassing moment. And hey, all of us have this one time experience that is really embarrassing that we wanted to forget right?
3.) Interact with Other People
Let your character, or even your article explore, make your character be the same as you when getting some ideas or a solution to a problem. When we don't know the answer to a certain problem, we often look for people who have experienced that kind of problem right? It will make you stay on track with the progression of your work and well, a human-like experience for your character even though it's a fictional person right?

4.) Make your Character Kiss the Wrong Person
If you are writing a romance based novel, then, you can definitely add this one up, if not, then you can just make the statement a basis on how you would add this one in the story line. But let's not get too attached to a person. let's say, we could actually make it like, the main character accidentally pushed a wrong button that makes him sent out in another planet just because of plain stupidity. It annoys the readers, but the funny thing is that it's effective. Go ahead and try it. And let's see how it would work.
5.) State the Obvious
Ok, let us say that, in the story that we are making, we actually sent all the information about the characters' personality open and none of them remain. Then why not start a fight with the other character by letting them point out the flaw in the character or on the lighter side, re-state how your character is a goody-two-shoes and how the girl in the story falls in love because of it? It's a good addition to your story and makes it progressive rather than stagnant, don't you think?
Well there you have it, if you are on a writer's block and is having a hard time to think about what to write next, then try doing some of these things:
1.) An obnoxious character will always keep your main character alive and energetic
2.) Put your Character in a Really Embarrassing Situations
3.) Interact with Other People
4.) Make your Character Kiss the Wrong Person
5.) State the Obvious
Just remember, there are different kinds of spices in the world and there are lots of them. You just have to know them looking for them. Don't be afraid to mix some things up. Remember, a soup is not just a water and a leaf, there are also different things on it that makes it a lot tastier and makes it a good appetizer.
