It’s been some time that I
gave a thought about something that is trivial for me now. It’s about how
other people thinks about an Otaku is weird and different from the rest of them.
Being different isn't really a big issue for me now, because for me, being different makes you, you! It’s how you define yourself and it makes you unique. If you are going to look about different stars in the western, they have their own unique look that makes them a star. Let us look for example, Lady Gaga, in previous years; she wears different get ups just to show how unique she is.
Otakus really isn't much different;
they embraced how uncommon they are. And besides, who wants to be common or
normal in today’s age? If you are an Otaku, would you prefer to have normal
friends who don’t even know what your interests are? Of course not right?
Be Proud of who you really
are and continue loving anime, manga, and everything that can make you happy.
Be proud of what you love, because people love something else too. Like Kpop,
Boy Bands, Hipster Trends, Emo culture or just being plain nerdy and geek.
It all depends on the
perspective of the person on what he will like and what he deems normal. At the
end of the day, I don’t think being uncommon or weird matters. After all,
everything will fall on a perspective of an individual. But for me, Otakus can also be weird and at the same time Wonderful.
