1.) Listen Attentively
How could we create a great and deep topic when we don't listen to the one speaking? Listen carefully and take note of the important things that might be possible gate lines for a good conversation. When the one in front of you looks like he wanted to talk, let the person talk. He enjoys it, so make sure that you give him time. After that, then it's your Que to give out a reply or even ask a question.
2.) Ask a Sensible Question
Most people have trouble getting this one, and of course, me too. But after while practicing to take note of important things to ask a question in a topic that the party is talking about, I am starting to get a hang of it.
But I also found a thing or two when you are not really sure what to ask, they are "Really?", "So what was the feeling back then?" or even, "Where you really got into that. .?", and after asking that question, the other person will elaborate further what really happened back then.

3.) Bring Out Your Similarities
Not all people have the same interest. That is true, but if you've found out that the person you are talking to had an interested on a thing that you care little about. Don't be shy and tell it to them. It's not like the other person won't talk to you anymore. it will be a good topic for the both of you as well, you might learn a thing or two from it and vice-versa. Try mimicking some things that the other person is doing. It's like your faking it until you make it. The other person will find you interesting for sure.
4.) Make People Feel Real Good
Compliments make other people feel good. After hearing their story, compliment them. Tell them how great it was. But sometimes, if you not sure on what to say, you could have just to fake it again. Technically, you won't be lying because, if the person feels really happy about it, share the feeling, be happy too. If the person in front of you sees that you are happy that he is happy. Then, he might already like you. Because remember, people want likable people most of the time and not competent people.
5.) Eye Contact
Remember the things that you read around the internet about interview tips? Keeping an eye contact for the duration of the conversation means that you are really interested in them and with the topic. It makes things look that you are serious about it. But if any cases that you have trouble looking at the eyes straight for a longer duration of time, try looking at the middle of the eyes just at the upper part of the nose. It gives off an impression or illusion that you are looking at their eyes.
